Asher is a 9-week-old shepherd pup with boundless personality and energy.  Having somehow gotten lost from his mother and littermates, he wound up alone and frightened at the Downey shelter, crying and howling for the furry family he would never see again.  After being rescued, he was placed in a foster home which includes two dogs and a cat, which Asher immediately adopted as his “pack.”  This puppy is curious and adventuresome with no fear of new experiences, like charging his reflection in the mirror or ascending a flight of stairs.  He jumps in delight at the sight of anything at his eye level, even a waste basket, and loves playing with his numerous toys. When his energy is spent, he is as cuddly as a baby bear and will fall asleep in your lap. Because of Asher’s early separation from his litter, he still suffers from separation anxiety if he cannot be with you.  His ideal permanent home would be with a patient person or family who is at home during the day to keep him company, continue to potty-train him, take him on daily walks/runs and monitor him through his energetic puppy months.  School age, versus pre-school, children would be preferrable, and another dog in the family would make Asher’s world complete. In the months to come, Asher will become a handsome adult shepherd, probably weighing about 80 pounds.
